ahh... 1914, the day our world went to hell... with what the advent of the great war and the beginning of the era i like to call the era of technological ignorance.

I have the next three "Odd Thomas" books lying around somewhere, I'll see if I can find them, and get them to you.

Reading order of them will be,

1.Forever Odd
2. The Brother Odd
3.Odd Hours

Also there will be at least one more book in the series, and I'll be getting it as soon as I find out that it has been released.

In a semi-related note: I've discovered that here in Milton we have a Farmer's Market, which is run by a young Asian couple, who sell a variety of EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY fruits, vegetables, and oriental food goods. The place is called "Bypass Farmer's Market" and the reason I'm posting about it is because they have a few really packed book shelves and they will either sell you the books, or let you bring in books that you've read and don't particularly want anymore, and trade them at a 1 to 1 rate with books on the shelves. I've looked over these shelves, and there does seem to be some nice material there (it's not completely bogged down with cheesy drug store romance novels, as one might expect of bookshelves in this area). There's another book store right up the road called "Hat Man Books" which is considering offering a similar service as well. Hat Man Books has an odd selection though, as 2/3 of the store are Mystery books, a very small section of books are labeled "Sci-Fi", and the remaining are "Fantasy". So if you're looking for reference material, non-fiction, self-help, cooking, romance, manga, or virtually anything else, than you'd probably be better to head about a mile east and visit the little book store they have in the corner of the Milton library.

Anyway, I know that Tom, ArthurDent, Flozz, and anyone else outside of my area won't be able to pull any use whatsoever from this post: But maybe Davy and Josh can the next time their in town.

I'm currently reading "Churchill & Hitler: Secrets of Leadership" by some uppity PhD guy. If you can tolerate the moderately frequent holier-than-thou authorial self-references, it's a good read, if not slightly subjective; the author never forgoes an opportunity to tell us how abhorrent/repugnant Hitler was, in contrast to how heroic/infallible Churchill was.

I'm not reading it anymore, but I'd recommend Shade's Children by Garth Nix if anyone can find a copy of it. It's a pretty sweet apocalyptic book that has people with special powers such as a telekinetic boy, a telepathic girl, a black kid who can see the future, and a girl who can create things by thinking about them.

James: That sounds awesome, there is only one used book store here in pensacola and that is on palafox downtown, it looks creepy and hunkered down in the middle of two bars, so i was reluctant to visit. For some reason i dont like going into places that look like they're closed in the middle of a weekday. Maybe we can go pick davy up one day and we can all go to the book store, im sure between the four of us (me you davy and michelle) we would be able to find some pretty good stuff.

Davy:I'll definetly take you up on that offer. I'm currently in the middle of reading an epic vampire-ish novel called "The Passage" by Justin Cronin. After that i plan on reading Stephen Kings Under the Dome. I thought the main character of Odd Thomas was so much like you davy, as far as personality and the way things seem to just roll off of his shoulders, apathetic nature, but a good person nevertheless. The dialogue was some of the wittiest ive ever read in any other novel.
